About this retreat

Unique combo of yoga (forest, beach, studio), meditation (seated and walking), hiking, backpacking, camping, swimming, hotmineral baths and more. Liz and I are happy to offer this amazing annual Olympic National Park adventure for the 9th time. All the trips over the last 8 years have been amazing, so much beauty! Trip includes virtually all meals (about 14), park permits, campsites, guided hiking, backpacking, meditations (walking and sitting), forest bathing (soaking up prana from the rainforest), beach yoga, river yoga, yoga in a studio (in Pt Angeles), swimming …. We will visit some of the most beautiful beaches, lakes, river, forests and mountains in the world. Who should attend? This is a unique trip, with yoga, meditation, hiking and backpacking. What is the difference between hiking, car camping and backpacking? We do some short hikes without packs, as well as two nights car camping in a campground, with bathrooms and showers available, and with our vehicles. Backpacking is more challenging, leaving the cars and crowds behind and carrying our food and overnight equipment (backpack, tent, sleeping back, pad, etc.) on our back. Though these backpack trips are not very long or steep (3-5 miles max per day), this is not for everyone.

About the retreat leader

Roy Holman

I have been teaching “Sacred Slow Flow” yoga, meditation and healing arts since the year 2000. My best training has been my life, working through challenges with depression, mid-life issues, and many other “speed bumps” that life has generously offered me. I teach quite imperfectly with as much joy, humor, kindness and grace as God allows! Roy Holman Yoga Style I am a 500 hour Certified Yoga teacher, in the Viniyoga tradition. I teach a safe, gentle, body-friendly, grounded, breath-connected, meditative, “Sacred Slow Flow” traditional hatha yoga – a meditation in motion really. Our goal is to renew the mind, purify the heart, heal the body and emotions, and deepen our Divine bond. Sacred: We seek to purify the body-temple, and deepen our connection with Source-God. We do not idolize the body, or anything else. Slow: Since we tend to move fast in our world, outrunning Sprit and our pain, we slow down to provide space for grace. Flow: We move with the breath, so we do not stagnate or get stuck. As mentioned, we move slow, but we do flow, along with some mindful pauses. Meditation & Prayer Style I also teach breath-work (pranayama) and meditation, and also try to incorporate the many aspects of emotional healing and balancing I have learned. The meditation is a mindfulness style, with focus on breath awareness, heart opening, body senses, emotional clearing, mind renewal and connection on all levels (body, breath, emotions, earth, Spirit). I also teach prayer and ways to deepend your Divine connection, call it Source or God. Sacred Journeys I have led over 125 wellness retreats globally since 2000. The journeys are a profound chance to connect deeply with each other, and your true self, purpose and desires. Our passion is helping you be you! They are an excellent balance of inner discovery and outer fun, food, hiking. . . . Note: My beloved wife (below) has been leading retreats with me since 2015
