About this retreat

A four-day sound healing and meditation training takes place on an eco farm in the Himalayas near Pokhara, Nepal, designed for those seeking to deepen their practice with vibrational techniques. Set amid terraced fields and mountain views, the retreat blends ancient wisdom with accessible methods for working with sound. Participants learn how singing bowls and mindful presence can influence energy, mood, and inner balance. The course is suitable for yoga teachers, wellness facilitators, or anyone drawn to holistic self-care. Each day introduces core principles of vibration and frequency, exploring how sound interacts with the body and mind. Sessions cover the basics of chakra alignment and nadi flow using resonant tones from Himalayan bowls. Guided exercises demonstrate how specific frequencies can support shifts in brainwave states, encouraging calm or focus. The approach emphasizes experiential learning, giving time to feel the effects firsthand. Theory is kept practical, rooted in what can be sensed and applied. A unique methodology developed by Gerrit Nitsche since 2018 guides the structure of the training. It integrates traditional bowl playing with modern insights into sound meditation. Participants practice facilitating group sessions, learning how to hold space with clarity and care. The curriculum includes creating safe, welcoming environments where others can relax and receive. Attention is given to pacing, intention, and the subtle dynamics of group energy. One-on-one sound therapy techniques are also taught, focusing on personalized treatment design. Trainees learn how to assess individual needs and tailor sessions using specific bowls and placements. Professional boundaries, clear communication, and ethical practice are discussed throughout. The training includes guidance on session flow, from welcome to close, ensuring a coherent and respectful experience. These skills prepare participants to offer sound work confidently and responsibly. Beyond technique, the course touches on fascinating phenomena like cymatics, where sound makes visible patterns in matter. References to Schumann resonances and natural ratios such as the Fibonacci sequence appear in discussions about harmony and frequency. Binaural beats are explored as another tool for influencing mental states. These topics are presented not as doctrine, but as lenses to deepen curiosity about sound’s role in well-being. Set on a working eco farm, the retreat offers simple, nourishing meals made from locally grown ingredients. Days begin with gentle movement or silence, followed by teaching, practice, and reflection. Free time allows for walks along forest trails or quiet moments by the streams. The setting supports immersion, helping participants step away from distraction and into presence. Accommodation is basic but clean, shared in communal spaces that encourage connection. By the end of the four days, attendees leave with a rich toolkit for using sound in personal practice or professional offerings. They gain confidence in playing bowls with awareness, guiding meditations, and maintaining ethical standards. The training does promise certification, internationally accredited by IPHM and YACEP. Many describe it as a turning point in how they listen to others, to themselves, and to the quiet hum beneath the noise.

About the retreat leader

Gerrit Nitsche
Gerrit Nitsche

With a background rooted in DJing and music production, I spent years shaping beats and melodies for the pulsating energy of clubs and festivals. Yet, amidst the vibrant rhythm of the nightlife, I felt a calling for something more profound. Venturing into the unknown, I embarked on a journey across continents, eventually finding myself in the mystical landscapes of Nepal. It was there, amidst the serene beauty of the Himalayas, that I encountered the enchanting resonance of Singing Bowls and the ancient Vedic art of sound healing. Immersing myself in the rich tapestry of local culture, I embraced the teachings of seasoned artisans and wise teachers, learning the sacred techniques passed down through generations. Inspired by this newfound wisdom, I embarked on a mission to share the healing power of sound with the world. From the tranquil shores of Bali to the vibrant streets of South Africa, I journeyed far and wide, facilitating transformative sound healing sessions in diverse settings. Yet, as my journey unfolded, I felt compelled to push the boundaries of tradition and embrace innovation. Drawing upon the latest advancements in neuroscience and Brainwave Entrainment, I pioneered a groundbreaking approach to sound meditation, blending ancient wisdom with modern science. Since 2018, our Farm and Meditation Center in the heart of the Himalayas has served as a sanctuary for seekers and practitioners alike, where we continue to explore the limitless potential of sound as a tool for healing and transformation. Today, with a global community spanning over 800 practitioners, we stand at the forefront of a new era in sound healing, bridging the gap between tradition and innovation with every resonance.
