Accommodation

This journey combines comfortable accommodation in Cusco and Urubamba with a very simple and authentic stay in the remote Q’eros community. Nights 1 & 2 – Cusco: Stay in a comfortable 3-star hotel. Solo travelers receive a single room, while two or more people share a twin or matrimonial room. If you are traveling as a group and everyone would like a private room, this can be arranged for an additional customized rate. Nights 3 & 4 – Q’eros: Accommodation here is very basic and authentic. You will sleep on a simple mattress in a basic room, with an outdoor toilet. There are no hot showers or hot water in Q’eros. For larger groups, we arrange comfortable camping with a tent, mattress, and sleeping bag included. Nights 5 & 6 – Urubamba: Stay at a peaceful retreat center in the Sacred Valley with more comfortable facilities, including a private bathroom, hot water, and Wi-Fi. The Q’eros accommodation is intentionally simple and reflects the local way of life. It is an important part of the experience and allows you to experience the community beyond conventional tourism.

Food

All meals are freshly prepared by our professional cooking team using nourishing, locally sourced ingredients. We can accommodate different dietary preferences and restrictions with advance notice. For the Wachuma ceremony, meals will also be adapted to the recommended diet, with lighter and simple foods before the ceremony and no heavy meals the day before. Our team will take care of the details so you can focus on your experience.

Location

Cusco, Peru

Your journey begins in Cusco, where we will pick you up from your hotel or accommodation. From there, we travel by private transportation to the Q’eros community and later continue to the Sacred Valley. All transportation between destinations is arranged by our team, so you can focus on enjoying the journey.

About the retreat leader

Maestro Adrian

Maestro Adrián was born in Chua Chua, part of the **Q’eros community**, where he grew up surrounded by the traditions and wisdom of his ancestors. For more than nine years, he has practiced these ancestral traditions, learning from the teachings passed down to him by his father. He specializes in the ancient practice of **Coca Leaf Reading** and traditional offerings to **Pachamama**. These traditions are an important part of his connection to his culture, community, and the land. He warmly welcomes visitors to Q’eros to meet his family, learn about their traditions and way of life, and experience the community firsthand.

60+ days before departure: 25% cancellation fee 60–15 days: 50% cancellation fee 15–4 days: 75% cancellation fee 3 days or less: 100% cancellation fee Non-refundable services already purchased, such as Machu Picchu and Inca Trail permits, train tickets, and flights, as well as bank fees, are not refundable. No refunds are provided for unused services, early departure, or services missed due to travel delays. If you book through an online platform, that platform’s cancellation policy applies.

Ruty Salas Chani is Peruvian and co-founder of Nature Trips Peru. Originally from Pomacanchi in the Cusco region, she has a deep connection to Andean culture, traditions, and communities. Through her work, Ruty helps create meaningful experiences that allow travelers to connect with Peru beyond conventional tourism. For this retreat, she helps bring together authentic Andean traditions and the local knowledge and relationships that make the experience possible.
